Dr. Raj Vishnu (also known as Prasad Raj Vishnubhotla) has 4 decades of R&D experience in Computer Science, of which 30 years was in USA. For the past 19 years, he was leading software architectures for IBM USA in the areas of Business Intelligence, Data Warehousing, Big Data, and Cloud PaaS & Cloud Marketplaces. Raj got 7 issued patents in data mining and analytics.
Before working at IBM, Raj was an Assistant Professor of Computer Science at Ohio-State University, Columbus for 8 years, and later while pursuing entrepreneurship in high-performance computing for 3 years, also taught in Computer Science at University of Texas, Austin as an Adjunct Associate Professor. In his early career, Raj worked for 10 years at India’s National Software Center in T.I.F.R. Mumbai building multi-processor software. During these years, he also obtained his Ph.D. from TIFR.
In 2016, Raj founded Tatpurnam Enterprises, a social impact tech startup. He also works as a technical strategy consultant for mid-range startups, and mentors early stage startups. Raj is also an angel investor, and has been a member of Central Texas Angel Network in Austin, USA since January 2014. He invested in 7 startups so far in USA with 2 successful exits. Raj became a member of Hyderabad Angels in October 2016.
