Safir Adeni
Safir Adeni is an entrepreneur and a seasoned global business leader with more than 23 years of diverse experience across Americas, Asia, Europe and ANZ. His industry exposure includes Technology, Services, Manufacturing, Consumer Electronics, Telecom, ISP, Retail, Travel, Education, banking, financial services, Insurance, Clean-tech and HVAC sectors. He is also the CEO of Eknovate Solutions Pvt. Ltd., a Technology and BPO services company.
As the Managing Director and CEO of SITEL in India and Pan Asia, he led Sitel India, a JV between Sitel Corp and Tata group to more than quadruple its size both in terms of revenues and people, scaled operations from a single site in Mumbai to 5 sites across India all within a span of 22 months. He was subsequently promoted to MD for Sitel India and Sitel Singapore, Sitel Hong Kong, and Sitel Asia Pac investments with responsibility for growing Sitel’s Pan Asia strategy and managing operations in China, Singapore, Vietnam and Thailand. Subsequently he assumed an additional role of MD and CEO for Sitel Operating Corporation India Ltd (previously CLi3L) a Joint Venture with ITC Corporation. By the end of his tenure, his operations had grown 6 times with over 6700 employees and around $100M in client revenues. His career includes long tenures as “Director” at fortune 500 global companies like Dell Computer Corporation, Texas, USA, and York International Corporation, Pennsylvania, USA, as well as entrepreneurial stints as the founder Chairman & CEO of a B2C2B services start-up ‘Cuibono Corporation’ during 1999-2000 ‘dotcom’ years .
Safir obtained his Master’s degree from Southern Illinois University, USA, where he graduated Summa Cum Laude, with Honors. He graduated with a B. Tech from Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University, India in the Top 5% of his University Class and was a valedictorian in his “A” levels. He has completed the GAMP program from Kellogg School of management and Indian School of Business.
Safir participates actively in community and industry related programs and has held several key positions in American and Indian Technical Societies, been a delegate to ISO, Geneva, and is a Life Member of The Phi Kappa Phi Honor Society, a Charter Member of TiE (The Indus Entrepreneurs), Hyderabad Chapter and member of the IMA CEO Forum. As a member of YPO (Young President Organization) and the American Chamber of Commerce, he networks widely with other senior global leaders. His recent speaking engagements include Nasscom events, Times of India and Economic Times Knowledge forums, Dataquest/Cybermedia Conclaves, International Contact Center and Global IT/BPO/KPO Outsourcing/Off-shoring Conferences, in India, Sri Lanka, Nepal, Thailand, China, UK, USA, etc. He has been profiled on CNBC’s “Young Turks” show and on the cover of outsourcing2india magazine among others. He is the Chairman of the ICT committee for FICCI in AP and a council member of China Software and Services Outsourcing Network and China Import and Export Software magazine as well as on the BPO committee of Nasscom and BPAI committee of CII in India.
