Murali Krishna is responsible for the Microsoft Universal Store, Windows and Devices, India as the Site Leader. Universal Store (UST) builds the cloud services, platforms, and user experiences that help consumer and commercial customers buy Microsoft products and services — Windows, Xbox, Surface, Office 365, Azure, Bing, and more. With true internet-scale services and state-of-the-art availability and reliability, tens of billions of dollars flow through UST systems from customers in more than 240 markets around the world.
He owns Engineering and Operations for Enterprise Commerce, monetization efforts for Microsoft delivering platform and product strategy, engineering & operations, solutions and services creating best overall experience for business partners and consumers worldwide, enabling $62B in revenue.
Prior to Microsoft, he was with General Electric, where he played various leadership roles including the VP /India Hub Leader and Global CRM Leader for GE Consumer Finance Business, and GE Industrial Systems respectively, he was one of the early leaders who played a vital role in setting up IT for GE in India.
He led the Management Excellence efforts as the Exec Sponsor in Microsoft and was the India Secretary for CSR in GE. He won several awards including the company Presidents Award and the CIO Award, for leadership excellence, and his contributions on CSR. He was also the Exec Sponsor for MACH (Microsoft Academy of College Hires). He is a club-level cricketer, loves movies and supporter of animal welfare - PETA, HSI & PFA.
Murali started his career with Tata Consulting, in 1996. He has a bachelor’s in engineering, did his EPBM with IIM-C and had done his Exec MBA with ISB (PGPMAX, 2014). He is also a Six Sig Black Belt.
